OWL’s Safe+Sound Week, August 12th-16th, 2019

The Oscar W. Larson Company participated in OSHA’s week-long campaign to showcase and promote safety and health initiatives in the workplace. We took this time to feature some of our best practices like site safety audits, toolbox talks throughout the week, and stand-down meetings on site.

We kicked off the week with a corporate Toolbox Talk held Monday morning in Clarkston, MI. From there, each department and branch had their own unique ways to participate.

The Clarkston, MI General Contracting Department was the feature for this year’s “Take A Stand Day.” We invited MIOSHA on site for an informal consultation and site visit. This site was a unique ground-up with a new convenience store and petroleum underground installation. We also had four subcontractor groups working for us on site that day.

The Department of Labor has recognized Oscar W. Larson Company as a participant in this year’s Safe+Sound week by awarding a certificate for our efforts. Thanks to everyone who helped showcase the things we do daily that contribute to the robust safety culture within our organization.
